rest. And that is to show how the United States of America was
founded on Christian principles. This is not merely a matter of
opinion but is a matter of historical fact. We intend to demonstrate
that fact with the displaying of the historical documents and
speeches written and given throughout America's history.
We
at ChristAndCountry.net also firmly believe that America has been
greatly blessed because of its Christian foundation, heritage, and
principles, and that
the blessings bestowed upon this nation will only continue for as long as we
remain faithful to those principles.
With the decline of
the average American's knowledge of their country's own history we
find it necessary to take it upon ourselves to counter that decline
with an informative website that takes pride in presenting American
History to the public. We firmly believe that the knowledge of
history is vital to the survival of freedom in this nation.
History has demonstrated on countless occasions that tyrants can
only come to power and tyranny can only rule when the general public
is not informed well enough to see through the facades erected by
their corrupted government officials. History repeats itself over
and over again. How can that be? Why doesn't mankind learn from its
previous mistakes, and especially those repeated on numerous
occasions? Times change, places change and yet revolutions
continually occur throughout history that lead to dictatorships,
oppression and human suffering. One reason: Human nature never
changes. The founding fathers of this country had a great
understanding of human nature. They new that absolute power
corrupts. However, they also believed that knowledge is power. We
theorize that if we help to enhance the people's knowledge, then we
help to keep the power in the hands of the people. Which is the
nature of democracy. Having a more knowledgeable and better educated
public prevents an intellectual survival of the fittest from taking
place. If the general public is well educated and knowledgeable, it
then becomes much more difficult for their government officials to
manipulate them, in order to suit their own selfish interests.
Most people, unfortunately, rely upon the members of their
government, representatives, commentators, journalists, and others
as their only source of information. Quite often placing their blind
trust in people who, also quite often, give their own interpretation
of the facts. Sometimes they go so far as to distort or conveniently
omit some facts. And sometimes they just outright lie. Liars have
existed since the beginning of man's occupation of this planet.
Liars are still in existence. Greed, selfishness and hate have
always existed and continue to exist as well. These are just some of
the unchanging elements that make up human nature. And that's why
history repeats itself. We offer the historical documents
on this site so you may read them for yourself. So you may interpret
them for yourself. We even offer the scriptures for you to read as
well. We also suggest that you read them for the same reasons.
Because many rely upon the interpretations given to them by others
rather than reading the scriptures for themselves. This also allows
others to deceive and manipulate them. When Martin Luther translated
the Bible into German, he did it primarily for one reason. So that
the general public could read the the scriptures for themselves. The
Bible was only available to them in Latin prior to that. And because
virtually nobody spoke Latin, many within the church began to rule
with a certain tyranny. And since only they knew what was really in
the scriptures, they had absolute power.
Fortunately, we
have had the Bible made available to us in numerous languages since
those days. Unfortunately, many people who describe themselves as
"religious" do not read them at all. There are many people who
attend church that don't read the scriptures and don't really
understand what it means to be a Christian. There are also many
so-called "Christians" that don't even believe that Jesus is
the Son of God. There are even a great number of people that believe
that the Bible is no longer relevant in this day and age. We offer
articles that we hope will persuade them to believe what we feel is
the truth. That the Bible is the true, inspired word of God, that
Jesus is the Son of God (as well as the suffering Messiah that died
for our sins) and that the Bible is just as relevant today as it has
always been. Among those flawed manners of thinking we hope
to combat are the popular beliefs that Hell either doesn't exist or
that it is only reserved for the Hitlers, Stalins and Mussolinis. We
feel that it not only exists but it will be occupied by many more
people than we would care to imagine. And if we could save even a
single soul from that fate, then it would have been worth every
ounce of labor put into this site.
This site has many
purposes, but to sum it up: It is for your own enlightenment that we
have created this site. We hope you use it to your advantage as well
